SIX of the senior swimmers at Tavistock Swimming Club recently competed in the Devon Seniors and Masters Gala at Tiverton. They achieved a total of 23 medals between them – 12 golds, six silvers and five bronzes.

In the 15/16 years senior girls age group, Holly Brimble won the 100m backstroke, was second in the 100m fly and third in the 50m backstroke. Kameron Brimble and Nathaniel Rookes competed in the 15/16 years senior boys section and achieved nine medals between them. Kameron won a silver medal in the 50m fly and a bronze in the 50m backstroke, while Nathaniel won two golds in the 100m breaststroke and 50m backstroke, two silvers in the 50m breaststroke and 100m IM, and three bronze medals in the 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke.

In the senior 17/18 years girls group, Kirsty Best claimed four gold medals in the 50m and 100m breaststroke, 100m IM and the 50m freestyle.

In the Masters' gala, Michael Best competed in the men's 18-24 age group and won three medals – gold in the 50m breaststroke and two silver medals in the 100m breaststroke and 100m IM. Gareth Williams won four gold medals in the men's 25-29 age group, in the 100m and 200m freestyle, 50m fly and the 100m IM.
