THE housing needs of residents in three West Devon parishes will be examined in a survey which is being carried out by West Devon Borough Council.

Questionnaires are being sent to households in Lewdown, Lifton and Exbourne over the next few weeks. The council?s housing strategy aims to target different parishes across the borough over the next few years.

Marion Plyale, housing services manager, said: ?The rigorous assessment of housing needs is a key factor in the development of new affordable housing.

?With limited resources available to us, we need to be sure we are providing the right properties in the right areas for those households most in need.

?Surveys give us up to date detailed local data that can be used to justify social housing development and influence planning decisions,? he said.

The questionnaire is straightforward and takes just a few minutes to complete.
