PARENTS and carers in need of some advice can attend a session with an experienced family support worker next week, thanks to the Community Lynx group.

Sue Fairgrieve is a highly experienced parent and family support worker with extensive knowledge of child development and behaviour, and can help unravel the frustrations and mysteries of parenting.

Parents will have the opportunity to meet individually with Sue who will listen to their concerns.

She will be able to share strategies with them that can support them in their understanding of their child's behaviour as well as exploring their reactions.

No appointment is necessary and parents can come along to chat about any parenting concerns or issues they have.

There will also be a library of parenting books that can be borrowed. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

Parents will also have the opportunity to speak with representatives from Citizens Advice Bureau, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Parent Partnership and the Community Health Team.

They will provide advice on a range of issues including debt, benefits, legal issues, and information and support for parents and carers of children with special educational needs.

The session takes place in All Saints Parish Hall on Market Street on Tuesday, June 11 from 9am to 11am.
