The Spooners and West Dartmoor Hunt Pony Club held their annual show on Sunday, June 7, at a different venue at Meavy this year by kind permission of the Vanstone family. There was a magnificent turnout of ponies and horses from near and far.
The Lottery funded showjumps certainly tested several combinations, with spectator friendly stops being the order of the day. The riders were not always so impressed but determination was the key to success. The showing rings were well contested too with some beautifully turned out combinations competing.
The gymkhana ring always provides entertainment with well established local families competing for top honours. Vocal encouragement was given to all and by all spectators around the ring.
