HURDWICK Golf Club held their annual Beersellers medal on July 14, and the event coincided with the first really summerlike weekend of the year.
There were some excellent results with Alena
Wardle producing the best round of the day, a net 59, to win the ladies' event. Sue Wilson took second on back 9 holes from Fran Dawe, both with a net 69.
The men's division one was tightly contested and Rob Holter took first place on countback over the last 6 holes, with John Hewitt in second place, both had a net 65. In third place on back 9 was Arthur Wilson with 67.
Division two was won by Graham Raikes with a 70, followed by Mel Wilkinson with 71 and Ray Hurle in third place with a 74.
The 'twos' sweep was shared by Harry Bee and Tony Morris.
The monthly midweek stableford was won by Peter Brookbank with 41 points. In second place was Ray Hurle with 40 and in third Tony Pearson with 38 points. There were no 'twos'.
