FAMILY ties and beautiful landscapes make for an exciting new exhibition of paintings in Chagford this month.

The Monks Withecombe gallery plays host to an array of works by James and Katharine Lightfoot.

The local pair are brother and sister and have produced stunning paintings of Dartmoor and the Bovey Valley as well as some superb French and Italian landscapes completed on a recent trip abroad.

The acutely sensitive Dartmoor landscapes make no attempt to hide the wildness of the moor and it is this rawness which lends them an unerring beauty.

The exhibition is open every day except Mondays until February 29.
