SENIOR students gathered for Kelly College's senior pupils' sports dinner recently.
There was a slight change to this year's event.
Previously, each team had held its own annual celebration; however, this year all the senior pupils came together to celebrate Kelly Sport as a whole.
This resulted in a jubilant atmosphere as teachers, staff, coaches and pupils gathered in a beautifully decorated Melvin Hall.
Among the attendees for the evening was guest speaker, Sarah Collings. A Commonwealth Games medallist and holder of two European Championship Medals and four World Cups,
Sarah spoke to the pupils about the importance of envisioning your goals, believing in yourself and aspiring to achieving greatness.
Her talk was greeted with enthusiastic applause by both pupils and staff alike.
The final event of the evening was the award ceremony.
A total of 22 trophies were awarded to pupils who had excelled or greatly improved in cricket, rugby, hockey, netball, rounders, swimming and athletics.
A special mention went to Jonty Newton, who was the only student to receive more than one trophy.
He was awarded player of the season for both the 1st XI cricket and the 1st XI boys' hockey. Congratulations to Jonty on a wonderful achievement.
Well done to all those who won awards and a huge thank you to everyone who made the evening such a splendid success.
