YEAR 13 student at Callington Community College Qinglin Li (Leo) has achieved a gold award in the 2012 British Physics Olympiad.

Leo completed two physics examination papers set by Oxford University and was one of the top 50 students. He competed against 1,800 students from schools around the country, including Eton, Harrow and Charterhouse.

Oxford University has run the British Physics Olympiad for 25 years and this event is entered annually by talented young physicists.
