MEMBERS of Lamerton WI have chosen the Stroke Association as their charity this year.
Strokes are the leading cause of adult disability and the third biggest killer in the UK.
Each year around 10,000 strokes happen to people under the age of 30 and someone in the UK has a stroke every five minutes. The Stroke Association does vital work in helping those who have had a stroke and raising awareness of preventative measures.
To help raise funds for the charity a coffee morning will be held in Lamerton Village Hall on Friday April 20, starting at 10.30am. As well as tea and coffee there will be home-made WI cakes for sale and a raffle.
