A NEW professional ballroom dance group has been set up in the Tamar Valley and will be showcased at a charity ball in Callington next month.

Strictly Ballroom Plus will make its first public appearance at the Glad Rags Summer Ball in Callington Town Hall on July 12.

The group's leader Dr Tony Evans is well known locally as well as having had a professional career around the world. He has brought together talented musicians who have a wealth of performing experience and they will be playing everything from strict tempo dance music to current day popular music.

Part of the band's package is an upmarket professional sound and atmospheric lighting.

This fundraising event is part of the Callington Festival and is being promoted by Gunnislake Amateur Dramatics (GLAD), itself a recently formed group with two pantomimes under its belt and exciting plans for the future.
