A LIFTON farm shop was among the winners at a prestigious awards ceremony held at the Devon County Show recently.

Strawberry Fields picked up the prize for ?Best Entrepreneur/Innovative Product? Award at the Devon Life Food and Drink Awards held at the show.

The award was collected by Adam Mounce from Alasdair Healy, director of ADH Furniture, who sponsored the award.

Nominations for the awards were received from the public, with the top three nominees in each category then judged by an expert panel and the winners revealed at the glittering reception and awards dinner.

l Also among the West Devon winners at the awards were West Lake Orchards at Beaworthy which won the Best Drinks Producer of the Year award.

Linda Davies and Geoff Travis were presented with their large crystal trophy with a contemporary design by Norma Foster of sponsors Foster Leighton.

The business was also successful at the recent Royal Bath and West Show at Shepton Mallet, where their organic cox with bramley apple juice won second prize in its class against producers from several other counties.

Mrs Davies said an open day at the orchard was planned for October 3, as part of Devon Celebration of Food week.
