FISH valued at more than £2,000 were stolen from a pond in Callington, leaving their owner devastated. Annette Wetherill had owned the precious Koi Carp and Golden Orf for 15 years and each of them was around 6lb in weight. She had two of each variety and they were all stolen, along with five smaller Rudd which she had reared herself. The crime occurred on May 10 in Tavistock Road and it is believed thieves visited the pond twice that day, once between noon and 1.30pm and again between 8.30pm and 9pm. One of the Koi was described as black on the top with red on the underside and the other one has silver scales, each edged with black. Mrs Wetherill said the fish were very rare because of their age: 'Fish experts have told me they are worth whatever anyone wants to pay for them because you cannot buy them in the shops. 'I have had them since they were the size of my little finger. It's very personal and if they are not cared for properly they will die.' Anyone with information should call Callington police on 08452 777444 and quote crime number BN/07/266.
