ORGANISERS of the Dartmoor Challenge Charity walk have announced that this year's event will take place on the first day of September.

The charity walks are being held on Saturday September 1 to raise funds for two charities 'Help for Heroes' and the 'Barchester Foundation'.

The day will consist of walks ranging from five to 15 miles. There will also be a specialised walk for local residents of Barchester Healthcare care homes who have physical and complex needs.

Members of the public are welcome to come along and support or join the walks. They will start from the Burrator Inn, Dousland, and registration will start from 7.30am for the 15-mile walk and 8.30am for all other walks.

There has been a phenomenal response to the walks over the past three years and in excess of £15,000 has been raised.

More than 100 walkers took part last year and organisers are aiming to achieve this again this year. Thanks were expressed to the many sponsors of the walk.
