CHILDREN can go wild at Okehampton library this summer with the ?Big Wild Read?. This year?s summer reading challenge at all Devon libraries will have a wildlife and environmental theme to keep young minds entertained throughout the summer holidays. In Okehampton, a number of exciting activities have been arranged. On Monday July 30 there will be a craft and storytime session on the theme of butterflies. August 6 will see a craft session taking place to make an eco friendly snakes and ladders game. And on August 13 children can have fun creating a miniature garden. All these events are for children aged five and over. However, there will also be a special session for under-fives on Tuesday July 31 where they can have a go at making craft butterflies. Competitions will also be running at the library throughout the summer, including the chance to win a bike and a family ticket for the Dartmoor Railway.
