MEMBERS of the Standard Motor Car club 'rallied' together to enjoy a get together on Sunday at the appropriately named location of the Royal Standard Inn at Mary Tavy. It is believed that the British car building company produced more than 200 different models in the same factories during 60 years of Standard production. On Sunday members of the Devon and Cornwall branch of SMC met to reminisce, admire and talk about the popular British built vehicle. Among the half a dozen cars that turned up were three belonging to Standard enthusiast Colin Fry from Throwleigh. Colin drove one of his cars while his son Stephen and daughter Amanda drove the other two to the meet.
