MORE than 500 tickets have been sold in advance of Sunday?s music event of the summer in Tavistock ? Parklife. Excitement is mounting as the town tunes up for music mania in Tavistock College ? the day will feature 12 live bands performing on two stages, two dance tents, stalls and refreshments. Driven by the enthusiasm of college principal Colin Eves, Parklife has been supported by Tavistock Music Live. Bands signed up for the event include Relentless, Hannah and the Madding Crowd and London-based Catharsis. There will be top DJs in the dance tent and to suit all tastes there will be folk, jazz, African drumming and Tavistock?s own Stannary Brass Band. Martin Griffin from Tavistock Music Live said he was really excited by the sales so far: ?The website has been a great success ? people from all corners of the world have bought tickets. Most people buy tickets on the day for this sort of event so it?s great. Our target is 1,500 tickets.? Mr Griffin said all the logistics were in place and the weather forecast looked promising. He praised the team of people who had skills in abundance to put on an event of this nature.
