Clyst St George v Tavistock

TAVISTOCK travelled to Clyst St George to be met with an unprepared wet pitch. After a delayed start and with a reduced over match, Tavistock lost the toss and were put in to bat.

Openers Phil Stephens and John Walter reached 59 before Walters was caught by Cook off Myton?s bowling for 28.

This brought Searle to the crease and both batsmen hit the ball all around the small ground, Stephens ending with 103 not out (11x4s and 3x6s) and Searle 89 not out (5x4s and 8x6s).

Tavistock declared on 234 for 1 after 37 overs. Clyst set about the task of scoring 5 an over for 47 overs.

Tavistock did not field or bowl well and Clyst reached the total with eight balls to spare. John Doel and Steve Nicholson both took two wickets and Andy Kaitiff one.

Clyst won by 5 wickets.
