NORTHLEW kept the secret of a surprise party in the Victory Hall last Saturday, to mark the retirement of the Rev John Peak and his wife and Elaine.

As a gift, a cheque for £790 was presented by Esme Bolt and Callum Rose on behalf of the villagers (pictured left).

Proceeds from the night and a collection from the Rev Peak's farewell service attended by chapels in the circuit, some £338, were donated to the Karibuni Trust of Kenya, a charity close to the couple's hearts.
