THROUGH your columns I would like to reach the local community of ex-service men and women and their dependants, in order to remind them that SSAFA-Forces Help (the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families' Association) is here for those of our number who are in difficulty.
One day's paid service is all that is needed to qualify for its assistance, including service in the Reserves and on National Service.
SSAFA helps ex-service personnel and their families to apply for and obtain financial support from Service Charities, after assessment with a Caseworker. SSAFA can also help them to find appropriate services, if needed.
The Devon branch of SSAFA-Forces Help maintains Divisions county-wide and the West Devon Division has a small team of trained, volunteer, caseworkers.
