TAVISTOCK Arts and Makers Market is combining forces with The Big Draw 2013 this Saturday (October 5) on Bedford Square.

In addition to the diverse range of artists showing and selling their wares, there will be a yurt erected on the square by the Big Draw organisers and also music provided by the Saxophonics and Flute Cocktail. Members of the public will be encouraged to enter the yurt and to participate in guided drawing and painting activities.

Since its launch in 2000, The Big Draw has successfully supported the Campaign for Drawing's aims by encouraging everyone to draw. At Saturday's art market there will be fabulous flowers to draw and paint and people are being invited to join the band of travelling artists and create a floral masterpiece. It will run from 9am to 4pm and the next event will be November 16.

For December there will be special Christmas Arts and Makers markets on December 8 and 22 at the pannier market.

The market seeks to provide a trading and promotional space for local artists and makers to exhibit and sell their high quality and locally produced handmade wares including: paintings, ceramics, metal work, glass, woodwork, jewellery, textiles, photography and many other original creations.

Visitors to the market will find a unique range of products not found on the high street, and have a chance to meet the artists and makers themselves.
