MORGAN sports cars will be revving up in Bedford Square in January after town councillors gave permission for the 'Tour of Dartmoor' rally to start in the town.
The request by the Morgan Sports Car Club was enthusiastically welcomed at a meeting of the council's properties committee last week.
Tavistock Mayor Norma Woodcock said it would be great fun to welcome the Morgans and their drivers: 'Perhaps they would like to make it an annual thing and we could offer the town hall facilities in the future.'
About 20 cars will converge on the square on the morning of January 11 and stay for about half an hour.
The club intends to use the backdrop of the ancient town in a photo call for its records.
