A RECORD number of young people flocked to the OCRA Sport and Art schemes in Okehampton, South Zeal and Bridestowe during the recent half term holiday.
More than 200 children attended the sessions which offered the chance to experience football, cricket, trampolining, squash, tennis, martial arts, hockey, swimming, basketball, archery, an assault course and much more.
OCRA had linked up with Steve Newton from Artworks who helped the children produce amazing puppets and masks. Also on offer during the art sessions were clay, painting, collage and a variety of other mediums in an environment which aimed to allow the children?s imaginations to run wild.
The schemes have been supported by funding from the Children?s Fund, zero-14-plus and the Okehampton Non Ecclesiastical Trust.
OCRA has an exciting programme lined up for Easter with more sport and art days and outreach work into Chagford, Hatherleigh, Bridestowe and South Zeal.
There will also be a basketball camp with the Plymouth Raiders and an athletics day with a top coach.
