CHILDREN at Stoke Climsland Primary School have been awarded £3,300 from Tesco's community fund to buy new kit for their athletics, rugby, netball, football and cricket teams.

The school has won the Tesco Community Award.

Delighted headteacher Vicki Rigby said: 'Most of our junior children represent Stoke Climsland School in a wide range of sporting events and this money has enabled us to buy high quality and fit for purpose kit for all the different sports in which we participate.

'Looking good while they are taking part adds to their sense of pride in representing Stoke Climsland School.'

Presenting the cheque, Alan Woollcombe, Tesco community champion for the Callington store, said: 'It is always gratifying when Tesco can help out in a good cause, and they don't come much better than helping kids from all backgrounds to play sports.'
