MORE than £3,000 was raised at a special event at Hatherleigh Primary School last week, which will be put towards the school?s ICT budget. Headteacher Linda Mitchell said the auction of promises was a ?splendid? affair which included many fantastic pledges and great support from parents and friends of the school who were prepared to bid. A total of £3,075 was raised by the auction and Ms Mitchell paid tribute to everyone who supported it. She said: ?The event took a lot of planning and I must take this opportunity to thank Mrs Bartle for working tirelessly for some months prior to the event. ?Without her commitment, skills of persuasion and organisation, we would not have achieved such a wonderful sum of money which will benefit all the children.? Ms Mitchell also thanked all the members of the Home School Association who manned the door and organised the bar and the office staff who worked behind the scenes.
