OKEHAMPTON?S spirit, teamwork and will to win overcame a strong and determined Barnstaple for a hard earned win. Okehampton lost Josh Noon just five minutes into the game with a twisted knee. Barnstaple scored two unconverted tries in the first half ? one from a poor clearance kick.
In the second half Okehampton retained possession better and started to put pressure on the Barnstaple line. From a five metre scrum, No 8 Rob Long crashed over to score.
Okehampton then lost wing forward Rory Honeychurch with an ankle injury but the forward battle continued with Luke Crocker and Michael Aylen superb at claiming any loose ball.
Okehampton slowly drove toward the try line and after several rucks and mauls Rob Long got the try.
