Kingsbridge . . . . . . . . . . 20

Tavistock U10s . . . . . . . . . 5

THIS match saw a much improved Tavistock U10 team go down 20 points to 5 due to a spirited defence by Kingsbridge and despite Tavistock having much of the ball.

The game was played in very cold and windy conditions at Kingsbridge.

Tavistock, playing against the biting wind in the first half quickly won a scrum, just inside their own half.

Scrum-half Bourton put the ball in and the front row of Longden, Ferguson and Brain surged forward, releasing the ball. Romero quickly gathered the ball and darted down the left wing only to be forced into touch.

Tavistock won the lineout, passing the ball to Evans who was baulked by the steadfast Kingsbridge defence.

This pattern of play continued until Kingsbridge gained possession, broke through the tenacious defending by Thomson and Coker to score in the left corner.

First half play continued and despite spirited runs by Burdfield, Romero and Evans, Kingsbridge broke through the Tavy defence to record 2 more tries.

The second half saw Tavistock's spirited attack rewarded when a tremendous push from the scrum released the ball to Bourton, who shrugged off tackles from Kingsbridge to score a superb try.

Further good runs from Brain, Burdfield and Longden failed to breach the Kingsbridge defence, until just before full time Kingsbridge ran in their last try to make the final score 4 tries to 1.
