THERE's an opportunity to get fit and raise some cash for a very good cause at an event taking place at Tavistock College Sports Centre this weekend.

The centre is staging a 'spinathon' to raise money and awareness for Children's Hospice South West.

Staff at the centre will be cycling non-stop for eight hours and are hoping members of the public will come along and join in the sporting challenge.

Anyone who would like to take part should call Adam Tofield or Matt Smallacombe at the sports centre on 01822 813238 to reserve a time slot and collect a sponsor form.

Volunteers are very welcome, whether they cycle for an hour or the whole eight or just come along to add support.

The Spinathon takes place from 9am until 5pm on Saturday, December 1.
