THE speed limit through part of Mary Tavy is to be reduced to 30mph — but the parish council's request to have the whole of the 40mph area reduced has been turned down.
The parish council had hoped that the lower speed limit would be introduced for the whole of the current 40mph stretch of the main road through the village, and also asked Devon County Council to consider making improvements to the junction at the Mary Tavy Inn.
However, both requests were turned down, parish clerk Ann Cole said.
