THE international concert organist Carlo Curley will give a spectacular concert at Tavistock Parish Church on Saturday, May 20 at 7.30pm. His appearance in Tavistock this month is to mark the completion of the Parish Church?s organ?s restoration appeal. His programme will include popular music from the classical repertoire as well as some ?organ greats?. The audience will be able to watch Carlo perform via a large screen and refreshments will be available. It is not often that Tavistock is able to host a musician of such calibre. Carlo Curley has performed in many of the major venues throughout the world, including Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Scandinavia, South Africa, Russia and France and he has been the guest of such major festivals as Edinburgh, Bath and the City of London. Carlo has made two guest appearances on the Wogan Show, guested throughout a BBC series with the late Dame Thora Hird and contributed to an Omnibus documentary about the organ. Needless to say, his playing is outstanding and his many appearances locally, most notably at Mount House School, have been met with rapturous applause.
