THE Tavvy Specials had their first Tournament at Devon FA HQ in Newton Abbot on Sunday.

A strong U16s side from Tiverton, the Tywford Spartans, gave them a tough first game but a couple of great goals by Jack Gerrish tipped the balance and for a 3-1 win.

Specials' coaches Will Reed , Rachel Kelly and Robyn Hammond chivied the team along in a tough Match against Argyle next with Lee Rosser-Lewis nailing the game with a cool finish to win 1-0.

This was a great result for the team.

A lively crowd cheered their final game against a second and strong Argyle Team with super football from Kieran Lees , Alex Taylor, Sam Pole, Daniel Hart and some fine saves from Tobias Clifford-Flower another brace of goals by Jack Gerrish the game seemed to belong to the Specials at 2-1. But a sweetly hit corner in the last seconds of the game from Argyle saw a back header from a defender go in under the win goal to make a final score of 2-2.

The Tavvy Specials U12s side enjoyed a friendly against a mixed side from the Spartans and Argyle and lost a close game 2-1 but they didnt lose heart as their striker Ashley Piper did some wonderful runs and there was some solid defending by Zach Ward.

The Specials next tournament is on Sunday, March 21, at Feniton FC near Exeter.
