EIGHT year-old Oliver Jessop scored his first goal for the Tavi Specials at the Devon Ability Counts Tournament held at Plymstock School on Sunday.

Oliver, who is on the Autisic spectrum , was thrilled to slip the ball in the net as all his family were there to cheer him!

All the U12s had great fun playing against the Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City teams and the U16s did well too with strong attacking football by Jake Riddolls and Zac Ward.

The ladies team played really well again and had a new member joined up , they won two and drew four,with Billy Venning overseeing them for the afternoon.

The girls are really stating to find their feet now in the first season of Ability Counts Ladies leagues.

The division two side assisted by Wayne Downham and Dan Oner played all day with huge smiles on their faces so a well done to Ian ,Sean and Simon in their first season playing football.

Karl Cudmore and the newly promoted Tavistock Stars team had some tough matches in division one but Bobby Upham  christened his new bright yellow boots scoring a brace of goals , one being a scorcher.

Alex Taylor ran his socks off with some super runs and Harry Sharp , Kieron Lees and great keeping by Ben Burnard.

The event was really successful with 35 teams taking part proving that Ability Counts football is well and truly on the map in Devon.
