PLYMOUTH artist Anita Collier will be sharing the highs and lows of her life, her creative journey as an artist, and deeper insights into some of her paintings at the next meeting of Taste and See.

Anita was born in Plymouth and paints from her studio there, where she lives with her husband Paul, and children, Hazel and Tom. A background in teaching design and technology at secondary schools means Anita is experienced in a variety of disciplines, including ceramics, metalwork and textiles. Recently she has been experimenting with various print processes, while continuing to work with oil, acrylic and mixed media.

While most of Anita's works are not 'religious', her Christian faith underpins them all.

She said: 'Inspiration for my work ranges from what catches my attention in the world around, to what captures my inner world, such as a picture, an idea or an emotion. I then try to faithfully respond by expressing the intuitive blended with the actual, both in style and approach.'

The Taste and See meeting is at the Terrace Restaurant, Tavistock on Monday, October 21 at 7pm for 7.30pm. Tickets, £12 for two courses, are available from Windsors Café, Russell Street, Tavistock — tel 01822 616057.
