A SPECIAL evening just for the youth in the Bere Peninsula is being staged at Bere Alston Parish Hall this Saturday at 7pm.
The Youth 2 Youth Awareness evening has been organised in order to show the local community what opportunities Youth 2 Youth provides, and also to supply parents with information about what is available for their children in Bere Alston.
'The Hut' in the village was founded to offer young people of the Bere Peninsula a 'drop in' centre.
Jen Potts, a youth worker for the Bere Peninsular, said: 'The Hut offers a place of safety to be able to face these and gives a positive platform — a place to focus for the young people, to have their aspirations and potential realised and achieved.
'We would like you to come to our awareness and celebration evening to see how some of the young people of the Bere Peninsula have achieved some of their potentials and how working together has made a positive impact on their lives.
'It proves how vital working partnerships are for the whole community as well as the individual young person.'
Jen also added that during the evening there will be a raffle where participants could win a mountain bike. All funds raised will go back into Youth 2 Youth to provide facilities for the young people.
