South Zeal Utd 2 Tipton St John 1 ATTACKING down the slope and with a slight following wind Tipton had the better of the first half and took the lead after 20 minutes when the Zeal defence failed to clear a long throw leaving one of the Tipton strikers an easy header to put them one up. The second half was all Zeal and within 10 minutes of the restart Lloyd Chapman put Zeal level when his low free kick went through the Tipton wall and beat the keeper at the near post. Zeal now pushed for the winner and with 20 minutes remaining Darren Gilbert took a quick throw-in to Redd Cann who took the ball on and blasted an unstoppable shot past the Tipton keeper. Zeal could have won the game by more had not a great run and shot by Darren Gilbert hit the post 10 minutes from time. Two weeks previously Zeal beat Upottery 1-0 after Harley Cann set up Tom Reillly to score the winner and the previous week Zeal lost a close game at Woodbury with Garry Smith and Darren Gilbert scoring Zeals goals. This week Sampford Peverell away.
