LAMERTON Parish Hall Committee has held three fundraising events since October 1 for the Lamerton Sports and Community Centre project. The first was an illustrated talk in the parish hall by Surgeon General John Pearn on his ?hands on? experiences as a doctor who has assisted at various disasters in the world over the years ? the talk was greatly appreciated by all who attended, and raised £178. A very successful quiz night with draws followed on November 3 again in Lamerton Parish Hall organised by Carol Golding. Carol had achieved match funding from her employer Barclays Bank and the whole evening netted £965. Winners of the brain teasing challenge were Mrs Jo Hawkins, Mrs Betty Gilbert and Mrs Mary Dawe ? 195 quiz sheets had been sold. The winner of the bear, which had been knitted by Mrs Ann Brown, of Trevenn, Lamerton, was Mrs Betty Hunting. Asuccessful bonfire night on November 6 by permission of Mr and Mrs Bruce Grant at Willestrew Park, a shared event with Lamerton Church, raised £248.85. Our final event for 2005 was a Christmas Fayre held on Saturday December 10 in the parish hall. This event was extremely well supported and raised a staggering £700 ? a record for this event. May I, on behalf of the committee, express my sincere thanks to everyone who has donated, contributed or supported the project. Valerie Hill Lamerton Parish Hall Committee
