HERE is a simple solution to nuisance calls and scammers.

Buy an answering machine (they are not expensive) and record a message along the lines of ‘This machine is used for call screening, leave a message after the tone and we’ll either pick up or call you back.’

I was plagued with such calls, but I now leave it to the answering machine, and smile when callers hang up before the end of the message.  No more nuisance calls!  Simples!
