TAVISTOCK Ladies? Hockey Club?s second team managed a triumphant win at the weekend.
The team played well and dominated throughout, with skilful passing and solid teamwork.
Jill Court with Sarah Barrett broke the ice with the first goal by Court. The forwards of Jill Court, Robynne Honey, Sarah Barrett, and Kate Eadie pressured Plymouth Uni?s defence and drove the ball towards goal.
With Barrett?s superb play and breaking runs, the crosses from the midfielders of Olivia Eadie, Zoë Viggers and Joanne Solman, along with Court?s strikes at goal left Plymouth Uni with no chance.
From a rebound off the post Honey scored. Tavistock battled against Plymouth and Honey was able to score again to make it 3-0.
Excellent passing from all of the mid-field and forwards led to another goal being scored by Solman.
The second half saw Tavistock come out stronger as a run from the middle field led to a goal by Court in under 30 seconds.
Tavistock marked their players well and through interceptions were able to break for goal again, with another goal for Court, making her hat-trick.
The defence of Nell Trotter, Amy Petts, Sarah Guy and keeper Roz Watts were rarely rattled, but came out the stronger in all attempts at goal by Plymouth Uni.
