SIDMOUTH captain Mike Dibble won the toss and elected to bat. Progress was very slow at only two and over due to tight bowling from W Downham and debutant Sam Willetts.
McGahey brought D Jeffrey into the attack with instant success Dibble lbw for 16. Jeffrey then removed Overthrow and Macey in an impressive spell of three for 20 in 15 overs. C Miles was dropped on 0 and went into score a hard hitting 38, but he was run out by Willetts. D Lines also scored 31 before being run out in a mixup with Counsell. Martin Dean made a brief entrance for two balls before the innings ended at 139.
There was early trouble in Tavistock's reply when Webber went for one, Gliddon soon followed and Tavistock were 23 for two.
Captain McGahey strode purposefully to the wicket with Goodchild put on 35 for the next wicket when Gliddon was bowled for 23. He was joined by Phil Stephen and together put on an 82 run partnership to seal victory.
McGahy ended on 66 not out and Stephen 37.
