Whitchurch U13s v Mount House U13s

IN a closely fought match Mount House came out on top, winning by three wickets.

Whitchurch batted first and after a solid start by Newton and Smith lost five quick wickets.

Whitchurch's batsmen adopted a positive approach to try to recover, but spin bowling backed up by top quality fielding ensured that wickets continued to fall. Whitchurch were all out for 48, with top scorer Shaun Daymond last out for 14.

Mount House's replay got off to a bad start, with McLaren run out by a direct hit from James Hulbert.

Whitchurch swing bowling had the Mount House batsmen battling for survival with Hulbert outstanding, taking 3 wickets for 6 runs.

However, resolute batting by Willets and a final flourish from their captain Cox saw Mount House to victory in the 27th over.
