THE Okehampton Skate and Bike Jam went bigger and better this year with record entries and great skill levels.

With BMX, Inline Skateboard and Scooters all featured in the event, local wheeled sports company Skatewarehouse put on their usual superb show of comparing, judging, music, freebies, prizes and team riders.

Contestants came from as far away as Penzance and all over Devon to take part in a format of free riding and competition. The event, which kicked off the Okehampton Sports and Fitness Festival attracted 150 people to ride and hang out.

The Youth Service were also there with plans from young people for future developments of the park which was originally installed through OCRA seven years. The event was supported by the Big Lottery Fund, OCRA and Sported.

Winners of events were: BMX Time, 1, Luke Drew; Inline, 1, Si Glover, 2, J-Rah, 3, Stupid; Scooter, 1, Jo Car, 2, Jamie Owen, 3, Mattie Owen; Skate -16, 1, Jago, 2, Dan, 3, Ant; Skate 16+, 1, Sid, 2, Adam, 3, Nath; BMX Street, 1, James Holmes, 2, Jacob Burton, 3. Ginge.
