The event, which is open to people living in the local area, will take place in the parish rooms in Tavistock on Friday, March 8 from 2pm to 4pm and provides an opportunity for local residents to experience Singing for the Brain for themselves.
Singing for the Brain is a fun, stimulating and social activity for people in the early to moderate stages of dementia and their carers.
Sessions involve a wide variety of music and include familiar favourites as well as simple songs that may enable harmonies or rounds.
Sally Ellis, volunteering officer for Alzheimer's Society, said: 'Singing for the Brain is led by a trained leader and provides an opportunity for people with dementia and carers to regularly meet in an informal and enjoyable environment.
'We are really excited about celebrating our first birthday and would invite anyone from the local area to come along and to experience Singing for the Brain themselves'.
All are welcome at the celebrations and refreshments will be provided.
