LAMERTON secured their second piece of silverware in three days when they defeated a game Bere Alston at Langsford Park.
The young Bere Alston side fought like tigers for the first half-hour and prevented Lamerton from playing their normal passing game. At the same time they kept the Lamerton defence under pressure through the pace of Ben Rushall and Kev Bratchley.
Lamerton got the goal to ease the pressure when Lee Wickett rounded the keeper to score from a narrow angle and a second quickly followed when man of the match Paul Cowling broke clear to score.
Shortly after half-time Paul Breyley hit a stunning goal from the edge of the area to complete the scoring as both sides continued to play attractive football.
This Saturday sees Lamerton at home to Pensilva Res (2.30pm kick-off) for their final game of the season.
