THERE were two outstanding performances from members of Tavistock Athletic Club at the weekend in the Teignbridge 10, which doubled as the county 10-Mile Road Race Championships.

Annette Roberts, in her first race at the distance, came second in the Vet 45 category, and collected a silver medal in the county championship, feats which were duplicated by Steve Groombridge in the Men?s Vet 45 age group. Steve, sharpening up for the London Marathon, came an excellent eighth overall out of the 310 finishers.

Nicole Heryet finished fourth in the senior ladies just out of the prizes, but her best result to date.

This was the third race in the Club?s Grand Prix series of races and the leading positions are: Ladies: 1st Nicole Heryet 30 points; 2nd Carolyn Dawe 28.5; 3rd Annette Roberts 20.

Men: 1st Chris Eastaugh 29; 2nd Keith Bowles 28; 3rd Robert Dawe 27.
