BERE Alston Trekkers (pictured) are hosting their first road race this year and entries are open. The Bere Pen 10k will take place on Sunday, May 1 and will start and finish at Bere Alston School. The course is a scenic three down, three up, road run around the Bere Peninsular which passes along the beautiful River Tamar.

Prizes will be given to the first three men and ladies with mementos to all finishers — with all prizes being made by local artists.

Funds raised from the race will be shared between Bere Alston Carnival, Friends of Bere Alston School and other community clubs. Entries close on Sunday, April 17 — no entries will be accepted on the day.
