WHY is it that when articles are written to thank the people who help in any way with carnivals, fetes, fayres and so on that St John Ambulance is always left out?
Without their donated time to supply the first aid cover these events would not legally be able to take place, yet time and time again reading this paper and again at Christmas in the Hatherleigh Parish Pump, they are not mentioned in the thanks.
This organisation is currently very short of adult volunteers who give up a lot of their spare time, mainly weekends, when they should be with their families, to give the support needed.
Volunteers are always going on courses to update their skills and are currently raising money for an important piece of equipment ? a defibrillator.
Please organisers, show your support and to anyone who likes helping the public come forward and help these people.
