Tavistock U13s . . . . . . . . 32

Kingsbridge U13s . . . . . 10

TAVISTOCK playing back to their old form started the game with a show of strength that allowed O'Neill to touchdown after 3 minutes.

The solid platform of the scrumage was set by the front row of Smith, Roberts and Lashbrook who again took on heavier opposition and dominated them.

With the back row of Robinson, Bancroft and Richards fiercely contesting everything in the loose it was not long before O'Neill opened up the defence with a storming run that gave him his first try. Now Tavistock turned on the pressure with Leeson commanding the lineout and stealing key opposition ball that thwarted their attacks.

Kingsbridge started to enter into the contest after some free kicks given for line-out infringements. But with the strong tackling on Lane and Thompson they were knocked back, losing key possession that allowed for the rampant forwards to re-cycle and first allow James another try and then, following a defensive error, a quick run over ball saw Richards score on the far side of the pitch.

In the second half Tavistock started playing down hill with the wind and soon had Kingsbridge under pressure.

Hall and Perkins on the wings started to receive the ball that allowed them to use their pace and ability to regualrly beat their opposite numbers.

This allowed Warlow to enter the fray from full back and set up James for a further two tries.

With replacements of J Smith and Savage coming on for some injuries the game continued at the same pace showing the value of the squad training sessions.

This was again seen with Evans having one of his best games of the season with ball carried over several metres, following up a high kick from Milligan caught his opposite number in possession deep behind his own players causing hurried defence by Kingsbridge.

With one conversion successful from Milligan the man of the match was awarded to hat-trick scorer James.
