TORRIDGE District Council has been shortlisted for the 2014 Local Land Charges Awards.

The awards acknowledge the achievements of local land charges officers across England and Wales, and local authorities that are playing a key role in the future of the industry.

The winners will be announced on February 24 in Bristol, hosted by actor Shaun Williamson, best known for his role as Barry Evans in Eastenders.

Torridge has been shortlisted in three categories ­— customer satisfaction, most improved NLIS (National Land Information Service), and best performing NLIS Level 3 local land charges department.

Cllr Gaye Tabor, Torridge's lead member for the natural and built environment, said: 'We are delighted to have been shortlisted in three categories.

'We have a small but dedicated team at Torridge and to be shortlisted for industry awards such as these year on year is truly an indication of the professionalism and enthusiasm of the team.'
