ORGANISERS of the Country Fair and Clay Pigeon Shoot at Hatherleigh on Saturday, June 30, aim to make it a real day out for all the family. The fair, which is in aid of Exeter Leukaemia Fund, will be held at The Old Station House just outside the town. The event begins at 10.30am, and includes a children?s ?play ?till you drop? area, close encounters with animals from Exmoor Zoo, gun dog scurry, a casting competition, archery, demonstrations by Arab stallions, heavy horses and a wonderful steam engine. Other attractions are a fun dog show, a fortune teller, a tug of war competition, tombola, various stalls to browse and a plant sale area. The clay shoot will be running all day, the main competitive event being the four-man team challenge cup. There are also individual events ? a pool shoot, and ?Have a Go? with a qualified instructor. The aim of the day is to have a wonderful time and to raise much needed funds for the Exeter Leukaemia Fund, a local charity working to relieve sickness among persons suffering from leukaemia and related diseases in Devon and surrounding areas.
