THE Whitchurch and Sampford Spiney Sheepdog Trial and Dog Show takes place on Saturday, August 28 at the sportsfields at Plasterdown.

The trials have been successful in raising money for the churches of Whitchurch and Sampford Spiney over the last 34 years.

The trials have, from 1981 to 2009, been held at Birchy Farm, Whitchurch, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Tom Cox, but this year they are returning to their original site adjoining Plasterdown by permission of Michael Doidge.

This year's event is well supported and together with the dog show and numerous stalls promises to be an enjoyable day out and a must for the holiday weekend.
