Cornwall Basketball League Callington Roos 91 Newquay Sharks 52 HAVING waited a long time for their first competitive game of 2005 Callington Roos welcomed Newquay Sharks for a Cornwall League fixture. The Roos has the pleasure of being able to select from an almost full squad with only two players sidelined through injury or unavailability, Newquay however came down with only 6 players. Callington raced to a 10-2 lead within the first 5 minutes and continued to play at a fast pace managing to end the first quarter with a 22-13 lead. During the second quarter Newquay hit the ground running and managed to pull within 7 points of the Roos with some good outside shooting, the second quarter ended with both teams trading baskets and at half time Callington Roos were winning 42-34. After the half time break Callington came out the stronger and managed to increase their lead to 60-38 and ended the third quarter with a comfortable lead of 68-44. With a healthy lead Callington were able to switch players regularly and give court time to some of their younger players.
